Hey everybody, it's Toni Vaughn. I'm excited to introduce you to what I like to call my Morning Momentum or 5 - 3 -1.
Before I talk about HOW to do the morning momentum; and WHY you should integrate this in to Your daily routine; I want to make a quick point about morning routines in general.
As I mentioned in my last video, I strongly encourage you to have a morning routine.
If there is something important to you it should be a part of your morning routine. If you are looking to improve an area of your life include it in your morning routine. We all know as the day goes on our energy fades, we allow ourselves to get distracted and we sink back in to bad habits and old routines.
Part of the reason this happens is our brains like familiarity. Your brain thinks hey we do this all the time and we’ve survived - why try something new it could be dangerous. This is why old habits win so often when we are trying something new.
So if you are looking to improve an area of your life it is essential to create and consistently execute a supportive morning routine.
Ok, back to the morning momentum. So my Morning Momentum is 5 Minutes, 3 Questions, 1 Action. Basically you are giving yourself 5 minutes to arrive at 1 meaningful action step which will move your goals or projects forward that day.
You may not need the full 5 minutes, but keep it to under 5 minutes so your not over complicating things.
Next - 3 Questions. These questions will obviously be different for everyone, and different from day to day but I’ll give you a few examples. What is 1 important step I can take to move an important work project forward? What important task have I been avoiding, but if I tackled it would make me feel great? What is 1 move I could make which would help me save more money? What can I do today to help me improve my energy? Which activities bring me the most joy, and how can I make more time for them? Who am I most grateful for today and how can I let them know how much I appreciate them?
Thinking of 3 important questions will help you arrive at 1 meaningful action step to move these aspirations forward. It should be something you can accomplish during the day. It can achieve a goal completely or it can be an important step toward achieving a goal.
I find this activity to be incredibly powerful. First, it takes less than 5 minutes to set up and generally only a few additional minutes to execute, but most importantly you are creating a habit of achievement. You are creating a new familiarity for your brain. Once this activity of consistent achievement becomes routine you create momentum. Once you create and sustain momentum you can accomplish more than you ever thought possible!
I hope you find this helpful. I’m going to keep rolling out empowering content so please Like and Subscribe so you don’t miss anything. Thank you so much for watching, and until next time I hope you’re empowered to move further along your personal growth path!
